Accurate Translation And Formatting Of Engineering Drawings
There are two important aspects complicating the translation of technical drawings: (1) limited verbal context and (2) restrictive layout.
The first one means that the text of the drawing is not enough to choose the correct translation. An isolated label (for example, ‘Gear’) might have dozens of equivalents in a foreign language, and only one or two of them might be considered correct to make the specific drawing usable. The translator has to read the drawing in order to translate it. A high level of technical literacy and profound understanding of GEF focus industries ensure that our translators provide an accurate translation of drawings even with very little supporting text.
The other aspect of drawings is their layout. With translations sometimes much longer than original texts, the clarity and readability of your drawings may be challenged. But we have a solution to this problem. The GEF team includes desktop publishers and graphic designers. They work with translators to make sure the translated drawings are neat and easy to read. With every element in its place.
We handle DWG and DGN files, but even if the editable version of your drawing is not available, we can still lay out an accurate translation for your PDF or other image files.
