Interpreting Services

On-site or remote interpreting services to ensure continuity of your business growth

Post-COVID Interpreting

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about lots of changes to the ways we interact and communicate with each other. Interpreting, which is a means of facilitating such communication, has also undergone changes.

COVID-19 restricted global travel and led to the postponement of a lot of international events. But it did not stop the international economy. What was once discussed in person has migrated online. This worked so well for some areas that it became the new norm, and we might never go back to how we operated before.

Whether you are eager to embrace these changes or are reluctant and unsure about them, GEF is by your side to help you sustain all the necessary communications for your business.

Remote Interpreting for Zoom and Teams

Before COVID, remote interpreting assignments were quite rare, but we are now witnessing the opposite trend. Most of our clients have switched to online communication and, therefore, online interpreting services. They have discovered lots of benefits to holding interpreter-mediated meetings online:

  1. Quick and easy setup. If an interpreter is available they can start almost immediately, or as soon as all the participants are ready.
  2. Lower costs. Without travel, accommodation, and equipment expenses associated with on-site assignments, remote interpretation makes international communications much more accessible.
  3. Smaller scale. With easy setup and accessibility, remote interpreting sessions can be scaled down to a 15-minute check-up on a particular project item. This makes international projects run more smoothly, with tighter cooperation and less guesswork.

GEF provides interpreters for Zoom, Teams, or Skype meetings. Just like with traditional on-site interpreting assignments, you can choose between consecutive interpreting (where the speaker says a few sentences and pauses for the interpreter to reproduce these sentences for the foreign audience) and simultaneous interpreting (where the interpreter reproduces the message instantly, with a minimum delay and speaks at the same time as the speaker).

If you do not know which method will work best for you, our team will be happy to advise you and find the ideal interpreter for your specific needs.

On-site Interpreting

Even though virtual meetings are growing in popularity, some communications simply need to be held in person. This could be for security reasons when discussing sensitive legal or financial topics. It could also be because of the very nature of the meeting, such as plant visits, equipment maintenance and repair, hands-on training, etc.

In the current context, GEF continues to provide high-quality on-site interpreting services in compliance with social distancing measures and vaccination recommendations.

We can provide all the necessary equipment for consecutive or simultaneous interpreting sessions to ensure that your international event runs smoothly.
